The first-grade students were very busy this week creating personal photo collages for their writing workshop folders. Children carefully laid out photos on their folders and then glued them into place. The folders now serve as a reminder about how many stories each child has to write about! Conversations were flowing as the children told each other about events depicted in their pictures. Many children added drawings alongside the photographs to add even more memories. It was heartwarming to hear so many children discussing the people in the photos that made their memories special. The rooms were abuzz with conversations about cousins, siblings, and friends. The children are excited for parents to see their collages at Back to School Night! The teachers thank the parents for providing their children with the photos that helped kick-off this important beginning project for writing workshop!
