First graders continue to build good reading habits. Most recently, they are learning that good readers talk and think about books together. What does a good reading partner do? They are learning how to encourage each other when reading new books, how to give clues for tricky words, and how to wonder about books together. Partners can help each other drop bad reading habits, and pick up good ones! Reading is a social act, and good reading partners work together. Below, first grade readers modeled how to be good partners in front of the class.
